Summer Spotlight: Rosario DiLorenzo, Baseball

Summer Spotlight: Rosario DiLorenzo, Baseball

Bears Baseball pitcher Rosario DiLorenzo had an outstanding freshman campaign in 2013 where he went 5-2 with a team-leading 3.41 ERA and 56 strikeouts. His efforts helped lead the Bears to their first 20-win and four straight weeks of receiving votes in the D3Baseball.com Top 25 poll. His season ended receiving AD3I Co-Pitcher of the Year honors and an AD3I First Team All-Independent nod. DiLorenzo started his sophomore season poised to build off the success of his rookie season and compiled a 4-1 record in five starts, but his season was cut short by a season-ending injury. The junior this fall received USCAA National All-Academic Team honors this past spring.

Final thoughts…

Anything you'd like to share with all the fans out there …

When I came to St. Joe's I fully believed that the baseball team could be a D3 powerhouse. I had plenty of other offers to schools but I chose St. Joe's because I wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself or anyone else. I wanted to be a part of something amazing like helping build a program that could be on the best in the nation. I believe we are taking the right steps in the direction and there isn't anyone that can convince me now that our little team in Brooklyn, can't compete with any team in the country. To all the Bears and Lady Bears fans, I just would like to say thank you for all your amazing support and we wont let you guys down and we will keep surprising you guys. Thanks!
