Spotlight: Brian Luebcke, Baseball

Brian Luebcke was one of the top all-around players on the Bears Baseball team that finished 24-18 and with a program-best fourth place finish at the USCAA Small College World Series. The two-time AD3I First Team All-Independent selection posted a .370 batting average, second-best on the team, and on the mound he compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.69 ERA to also rank second on the team in wins.

Because I really liked the baseball program and already knew some guys that played at the time and they had nothing but great things to say.

 Play baseball as long as possible and make it somewhere in the major leagues.

Summer plans…

 Playing summer ball and enjoying the summer with friends and family.

Most memorable moment in a Bears/Lady Bears uniform…

Most memorable moment would be stepping on the field freshman year and playing third base.

Funniest moment in practice/pre-game with Coach…

Funniest moment would definitely be coach Hans believing there was a dead body in me and a couple teammates' room.

Pre-game rituals or superstitions…

I listen to music on the way there to pump me up, usually the same songs.

Florida is definitely up there.

Help my team out in any way possible, and hopefully win the whole thing.

Was pumped about chipotle opening up.

Ive enjoyed 3 full years in St. Joes and look forward to my last one and also playing in the skyline.
