Skyline Conference Spring Sport Preseason Coaches' Polls Released; Softball Picked to Finish Sixth
NEW YORK — The Skyline Conference coaches have made their predictions for the upcoming spring season as the preseason polls were released by the league office today.
Coming off a nine-win improvement and narrowly missing the Skyline Championship, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball team was picked to finish in playoff position in what the league coaches see as a tight race, with fifth and eight place separated by just three poll points.
The men's tennis and baseball teams were slotted to finish in eighth and ninth place, respectively. The coaches also selected the defending league champions—Maritime (baseball), Mount Saint Mary (softball), Yeshiva (men's tennis)—to repeat as champions.
Baseball opens their season on March 3 with a home game versus Cairn. Softball begins their campaign in the nation's capital on March 8 at Gallaudet. Men's Tennis starts on March 14 battling Hunter College at the USTA National Tennis Center.
