Skyline Conference Amends Spectator Policy

Skyline Conference Amends Spectator Policy

NEW YORK —  Revisiting the issue of hosting spectators on campus, the Skyline Conference Presidents Council has voted unanimously to allow each member institution the autonomy to formulate their own spectator policy for the remaining athletic contests in the 2021 spring season.

Those policies will go into effect at a date of the institution's choosing and will follow all federal, state, local, and campus requirements and guidelines.

For contests at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex, St. Joseph's College will begin allowing spectators on-site on Tuesday, April 27. As local and regional COVID-19 cases continue to drop, we are excited for the opportunity to welcome friends and families to watch our student-athletes compete in person.

Student-athletes on both home and away teams are allowed only two guests each. All guests will be admitted through a player pass list only

All spectators must abide by the following rules and regulations:

  1. Stay home if you are sick or experience symptoms such as: fever or chills; sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath; headache, muscle or body aches.
  2. Complete SJC Visitor Health Questionnaire and receive a boarding pass on the day of the contest.
  3. Masks covering both the mouth and nose must be worn at all times.
  4. Social distancing of six feet or more must be observed.
  5. No tailgating on the premises.
  6. Spectators may not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the start of an athletic contest.
  7. All spectators must leave the premises at the conclusion of the attended contest. No lingering will be permitted.
  8. Bleachers will be closed for baseball and softball games. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs and sit or stand along the outfield fences at both fields.
  9. Spectators are not to walk campus grounds or enter campus buildings. Spectators must walk to and from game sites only.
  10. No interaction with team members and/or coaches permitted.

All rules and regulations must be followed at all times. A violation of any of the above regulations will be considered grounds for removal from the Outdoor Field Complex. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Note that not all Skyline Conference member institutions will allow visiting team guests at athletic contests. Visit the Skyline Spectator Policy Hub for institution-specific policies regarding fan attendance.
