Intern Jackson Tabbed Sports Information Director at FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. – After spending nearly a year in the Sports Information Office as an intern, Bryan Jackson has been recently named as the new Sports Information Director at Fairleigh Dickinson University College at Florham.

In his new role, Jackson will be the primary media contact overseeing the promotion of the Devils' 19 Division III varsity sports.

"I am extremely thrilled to be joining the FDU team as the new Sports Information Director," commented Jackson. "I am looking forward to continuing to build on the previous success of this wonderful program and it is an honor and a dream to be working for such a great university in my home state of New Jersey."

While at St. Joseph's, Jackson assisted with the coverage of the Bears and Lady Bears spring season, which included the participation of the baseball team in the 2013 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Small College World Series. He was also involved in the compilation and updating of the record books released over the summer, writing several features in the Top 10 Moments list and a special research project for athletic director Frank P. Carbone.

"Bryan was a great asset to the department in assisting to enhance the coverage of all our teams," said sports information director Anthony Macapugay. "While I am saddened to see him leave for what is a tremendous opportunity, I am thankful for all the work provided by all our interns and happy to see them progress in their careers within college athletics."

Last August, former intern Joe Hoffmann joined the media relations staff of Division I Murray State University, serving as the primary contact for women's volleyball, rifle and men's and women's track. Current intern Kyle Goodhart will serve as the sports information director for the Association of Division III Independents, while completing his second season at St. Joseph's and pursuing his master's degree in sports management at St. John's University.

Applications are currently welcome for (unpaid) interns in the Sports Information Office. Please e-mail cover letter and resume to amacapugay@sjcbears.com
