East vs. West Gameday - Bears vs. Golden Eagles
BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The Brooklyn and Long Island campuses of St. Joseph's clash in the annual East vs. West rivalry, the 2013 edition taking place on Saturday, December 22 at Brooklyn Technical High School starting at 3 pm.
The annual matchup features the Golden Eagles vs. the Bears/Lady Bears in a unique tripleheader starting with women's swimming at 3 p.m., women's basketball at 5:30 p.m. and men's basketball concluding the triple dip at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the sixth East vs. West matchup since the rivalry between both campuses was renewed in 2008. The Eagles and Bears had not met in basketball in over seven years prior and women's swimming was added to the event in 2010.
Bears basketball looks to carry the momentum of a thrilling double overtime victory over the Golden Eagles last year in Patchogue, their first win in the series, while Lady Bears basketball looks to snap a four-game skid to the Eagles and their first victory since 2008.
