Former Petrides pitcher Jamilynn McGowan was named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Pitcher of the Week.
The St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn) freshman went 2-1 with a 1.42 ERA in 19 2/3 innings, allowing only four earned runs in three starts. The right-hander tossed three complete games, including a strong outing at Mount Saint Vincent where she went 7 2/3 innings, surrendering one earned run on seven hits in a 3-2 extra-inning loss.
McGowan was dominant against New Rochelle, allowing one hit with eight strikeouts in rainy and windy conditions to secure her first collegiate win. She ended the week with a complete game win against Lehman on Sunday.
