Cutrone Repeats as AD3I Baseball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sophomore Chris Cutrone (Levittown, NY/Island Trees HS) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week after throwing his fourth complete game of the season on Saturday against Baruch.

The second baseman/pitcher threw his first career nine-inning complete game giving up zero earned runs in a narrow, 2-1, loss to Baruch. Cutrone struck out a career-high tying eight batters and held the Bearcats to five hits. The sophomore lowered his ERA to 2.48 on the season and has pitched 29.0 innings so far this season.

The AD3I Player of the Week award is the third earned by a Bear this season and is the second consecutive week that Cutrone has taken home the honor. The second baseman/pitcher follows junior teammate Mike Cundari (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) who earned the accolade earlier this season. The sophomore has now received AD3I Player of the Week three times in his career dating back to last season.

St. Joseph's (8-1) returns to action tomorrow as they travel to Philadelphia to take on Cairn University with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m.
