Bears Baseball Receives Additional Votes in D3Baseball Top 25 Poll; Ranked #3 in USCAA Poll

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Despite suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team has improved their standing in the latest D3Baseball.com Top 25 Poll for Week 5 through games played Sunday, March 24. Additionally, the Bears appeared in the first United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Coaches' Poll of the season at No. 3.

The Bears (8-1) received 18 votes in the D3Baseball.com Poll—up from five votes the previous two weeks—a national poll voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country.

The No. 3 ranking in the USCAA is the Bears highest ranking ever, having reached No. 12 in the 2009 season.

St. Joseph's dropped a tight, 2-1 decision at home to Baruch on Saturday, unable to recover from two early miscues that allowed both runs to score unearned in the opening frame.

With weather causing several games to get rescheduled, the Bears will face a busy stretch this week playing five road tests in four days starting on Wednesday at Cairn.
