Cundari Dubbed AD3I Baseball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior first baseman Mike Cundari (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) was awarded the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) baseball Player of the Week after leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team in hitting over the last week in Florida.

Cundari started his season on a tear as he went 4-of-4, falling a home run shy of the cycle while driving in three runs as St. Joseph's defeated SUNY Maritime 13-3 on Friday. The senior recorded a hit in four out of the Bears five games, accumulating a team-high five RBI during the week.

Last year's All-Independent First Team selection finished the week with an impressive team-high .471 batting average (8-for-17), .500 on base percentage, .647 slugging percentage and scored two runs during the week for St. Joseph's.

Cundari earns the AD3I award in its first week given out and has now garnered the award twice in his career.

With Satuday's doubleheader vs. Rivier cancelled, St. Joseph's (1-4) returns to the diamond hosting Albertus Magnus College on Sunday, March 2nd in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
