BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Junior Thomas McKenna (Bellerose, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week and was awarded United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week after helping leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team to a 5-0 record.

McKenna provided a spark at the top of the lineup for the Bears, hitting a sizzling .611 (11-for-18) with ten runs scored and ten RBI. The junior had 12 stolen bases on the week, stealing three bases in three consecutive games. The outfielder also finished with three doubles and two triples to end the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage.

The junior finished the five-game stretch with multiple hits in four out of the five games and had three contests with three RBI. McKenna had his best day of the week in St. Joseph's doubleheader sweep of Valley Forge Christian College going 6-for-10 with six RBI and four runs scored.

McKenna becomes second Bear to be named to the Team of the Week, joining senior Joe Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) who earned the honor on April 1st. The D3baseball accolade is the first of McKenna's career, while the USCAA Player of the Week is the junior's second of his career after finishing last season as a USCAA Second Team All-American. The outfielder is the third Bear to receive USCAA Player of the Week, following junior Chris Cutrone (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees HS) and Mendez.

St. Joseph's (20-8) tries to extend its school-record nine-game winning streak as they travel to FDU-Florham on Thursday, April 24th for a 4 p.m. first pitch.
