Cutrone Receives AD3I Male Student-Athlete of the Month for April

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Junior Chris Cutrone (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees HS) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of April after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team to a 15-3 mark during the period.

Cutrone had a great month both at the dish and on the mound for the Bears, hitting a solid .352 (19-for-54) with 15 RBI, 12 runs scored and a team-high five triples. The junior capped off the month with five multi-hit games and compiled a dazzling .479 on base percentage.

The right-hander also tossed four complete games during the month, finishing with a 3-1 record and an impressive 1.29 ERA in 35.0 innings. The two-time Player of the Week during the month had his best start of the month and the season on April 5th against SUNY-Canton as he pitched a ten-inning complete game in a 2-1 walk-off victory for the Bears.

The second baseman/pitcher has adds the monthly accolade given out by the Association to his three Player of the Week honors from AD3I. The USCAA Second Team All-American also took home USCAA Pitcher of the Week twice and follows senior Joe Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) who took home the monthly accolade for the month of March.
