BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team (14-15) will look to build on their winning streak to move past the .500 mark have a doubleheader showdown against future Skyline foe and sibling school St. Joseph's (L.I.) at the SJC Outdoor Complex in Patchogue. First pitch of game one starts at 12:00 p.m.

He is currently on a season-best 13-game hitting streak, one game away from tying the all-time school record of 14 games held by Robert Villante in 2008.

Senior Chris Cutrone (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) is second with 19 runs to go with an outstanding batting average of .337 (29-for-92). In Thursday's win over Merchant Marine, he became just the fifth Bear in school history with 150 career hits. Nicholas LoPrinzi (Howard Beach, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) is hitting .309 on the season, and has 10 runs scored and is tied for third with 13 RBI.

Behind the plate, Domenick Camerada (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) is second the team with 15 RBI and a team-best 16 walks. He is coming off driving in a game-high three runs in their 9-1 win over Merchant Marine Thursday. Shortstop Francis Rapp (Baldwin, N.Y./Oceanside) has a batting average of .313, third with 17 runs scored, and is tied with LoPrinzi for third with 13 runs batted in.

On the mound, Mitch Brigando (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) leads the team with a 6-1 record along with a 3.18 ERA and 26 strikeouts over 39.2 innings. He is coming off his third complete-game of the year, allowing just one run and six hits over nine innings to beat Merchant Marine.

Bears Last Time Out vs. Merchant Marine

In their last outing, the Bears got a outstanding pitching outing from Mitch Brigando as they defeated the Merchant Marine Academy, 9-1, Thursday afternoon at Lower Roosevelt Field.

The sophomore starter pitched a complete game, his third on the season, allowing just one run on six hits to improve his team-best record to 6-1 on the season.

With three RBI and two hits on the afternoon, Chris Cutrone became just the fifth Bear in school history with 150 career hits. Thomas McKenna also connected on a double in the top of the fifth to extend his team-high hitting streak to a season-best 13 games.

Domenick Camerada had a game-high three hits and three runs batted in, while brother Michael Camerada added two RBI. Brian Luebcke compiled two runs scored, and Vinny Rossi contributed a run batted in.

The Eagle's Nest

St. Joseph's (L.I.) has a strong offensive team, with six players hitting .360 at the plate or better. The Golden Eagles are led offensively by junior Nick Girardi, who ranks third in the Skyline Conference with a .421 batting average (40-for-95) along with 21 RBI (tied for first on the team) and 22 runs scored.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) Last Time Out vs. Yeshiva

In their last time out, the Golden Eagles got perfection on the mound and also drove in 26 runs in a doubleheader as they swept Yeshiva, 15-1 in game one and 11-0 in game two, Friday afternoon in Riverdale.

Josh Outsen retired all batters he faced without allowing a hit or a base runner and striking out 12 along the way in the seven-inning game two victory.

In the doubleheader, Nick Girardi had four runs batted in while Anthony Bonilla scored five times. James Terry plated three runs, while Joseph Calabrese and Ryan Balsam each drove in two. Ryan Aloise also struck out eight in four scoreless frames during game one's win to improve to 4-1.
