The Bear Facts

  • After runnng off four straight wins, the Bears look to rebound from a 13-10 road defeat to Drew in a slugfest on Thursday. The Bears rattled off 16 hits in defeat with three hits apiece from Anthony DeFillippo, Brian Luebcke and John Condon. SJC erased an early four-run deficit scoring seven unanswered before falling in the later innings. A ninth-inning rally fell short with the tying run at the plate.
  • Brian Luebcke paces the Bears offense with a team-leading 17 hits, 12 RBI and 12 runs, batting .459 on the season, the only Bear to successfully hit in all eight games this season. Picking up his first win season on the mound against Staten Island last Saturday, the senior also has a team-best 0.56 ERA and 16 strikeouts. For his efforts in four wins last week, Luebcke was named the Skyline Player of the Week and named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
  • Connor Pasetti leads the team with a .467 batting and .619 slugging, and launched his first career home run last Sunday at Lehman. Michael Camerada ranks second on the team with 10 hits and eight RBI batting .400 on the season with an active five-game hitting streak.
  • Record update: The season-opening doubleheader at NAIA-member Warner have been ruled exhibitions by the NCAA so the Bears are now officially 4-4 on the season.
