The Bear Facts

  • After runnng off four straight wins, SJC is now one of their last four and look to bounce back from two tough losses unable to hold off CCNY in the final innings for a sweep last Saturday and dropping an 8-4 decision to NJCU on Wednesday, unable to take advantage of four Gothic Knights miscues and stranding nine on base.
  • Brian Luebcke is the only Bear to start in all 11 games and paces the offense with a team-leading 20 hits, 14 RBI and 14 runs, batting .408 on the season, but saw his 10-game hitting streak snapped on Wednesday, but still has an 11-game reach based safely streak. The Skyline Player of the Week from two weeks ago also has a team-best 0.56 ERA and 16 strikeouts in two starts.
  • One of the hottest bats of late, freshman Anthony Camerada is batting 7-for-12 with 4 RBI and three extra-base hits over the last 4 games and has lifted his average to a team-high .471 with a .765 slugging. He went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a double in a reserve role at NJCU. Brother Michael Camerada, a junior, ranks second on the team with 14 hits, 10 RBI and scoring 13 times.
