Luebcke's Fifth Win Earns Skyline Honor Roll Recognition

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Earning his fifth win of the season on the mound on Sunday with a complete-game victory over Mount Saint Vincent, senior Brian Luebcke (Astoria, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) has been named to the Skyline Conference honor roll for games played April 18-24.

A three-time Player of the Week this season and the reigning Pitcher of the Week last week, Luebcke had another strong outing on the mound with a seven-inning, five-hitter in a game one victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

Finishing his team-high-tying fourth complete game of the season, the senior allowed just one unearned run and struck out six and became the second fastest Bear to record 100 career strikeouts.

Lifting his record to 5-1, the righty hurler shares the league lead in wins and leads the league in innings pitched (56). He's ranked third in ERA (2.89) and strikeouts (48).

Luebcke lands on the honor roll for the second time this season in addition to his four weekly awards.

Currently in a race for one of the two final spots in the Skyline Conference Championship, the Bears (19-17, 7-7 Skyline) will play their regular season finale hosting Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, April 30 in a league doubleheader starting at noon at Padavan-Preller Field.
