Dance Team Tryouts on September 17

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) head dance team coach Kelly Hartney has announced open tryouts for the Diamonds to be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Angela Hall dance studio.

All interested in trying out MUST have a completed medical form filed with the Sports Medicine Office and cleared by an SJC athletic trainer. For any questions about the medical clearance process, please contact Head Athletic Trainer Oscar Melendez.

The Diamonds perform at all men’s and women’s home basketball games in addition to other events in school. In 2012, the Diamonds competed at the UDA College National Championships in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the first appearance in school history. The Diamonds have also performed at Madison Square Garden during halftime of a New York Liberty WNBA game and at the Barclays Center home of the Brooklyn Nets, during an SJC men's and women's basketball games in 2012 and 2013.

The St. Joseph's College dance team is multi-talented with different backgrounds in dance and varied levels of experience. They perform all different types of routines, from jazz and hip-hop to pom and theatrical.
