Louison Receives AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – In recognition of his outstanding efforts on the hardwood in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball to a victory over NYU-Poly, junior David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) men's basketball Player of the Week.

Louison, St. Joseph's leading scorer on the year, recorded his fourth double-double of the season in helping lead the Bears to a 79-54 triumph over the Blue Jays on Tuesday in their lone game of the week. The junior finished with 17 points on 5-of-10 (50 percent) shooting from the floor while securing 11 rebounds. The forward filled out the stat sheet with two assists, two steals and two rejections as St. Joseph's improved to 4-5 on the year. Louison is now averaging 14.1 points per game and is second on the team corralling 8.7 boards per night.

Last year's All-Independent First Team and HVIAC All-Conference selection earns his first weekly accolade of the year. Louison was a four-time AD3I Player of the Week a year ago and follows teammate sophomore Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) as the lone Bears to pick up weekly honors this season. Megafu earned USCAA and AD3I Player of the Week on November 26th and took home HVIAC Player of the Week on December 3rd.

St. Joseph's returns to action this Saturday, December 21st as they conclude the East vs. West Tripleheader against archrival St. Joseph's (L.I.) with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
