Louison Named AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing his outstanding performance on the hardwood in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team to a victory over HVIAC rivals Berkeley College, junior David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week.

Louison was the catalyst of a St. Joseph's team that defeated Berkeley College 75-57 at the Barclays Center on Friday. The junior scored 29 points on an efficient 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) shooting from the floor while grabbing five rebounds as the Bears moved over .500 for the first time this season at 6-5. The forward now has over 900 points for his career and leads the team in scoring averaging 15.6 points per game and is shooting 47.3 percent from the floor on the year.

Louison earns both Player of the Week honors for the second time this season having previously taken home the honors on December 17th. The junior follows frontcourt partner Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) who swept the awards from AD3I and the HVIAC last week.

St. Joseph's (7-5) returns to action on Saturday, January 4th taking on Drew University at Brooklyn Technical High School with tip-off slated for 5 p.m.
