Louison Adds D3Hoops.com Team of the Week Honors to HVIAC Accolade

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Adding to Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week honors received earlier in the week, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) junior David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) has been named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week after averaging 24.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game over a two-game stretch for the Bears from December 30-January 5th.

Louison becomes the first Bear to ever be named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week. He received D3Hoops.com Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year honors in his freshman campaign.

Louison was the spark plug of a St. Joseph's team that picked up an 87-84 overtime win over CCNY and dropped a narrow 85-78 decision to Drew University. The junior started off the week recording his fifth double-double of the season against the Beavers finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out three assists as the Bears extended their winning streak to four games to move a season-high two games over .500.

The forward concluded his week with an impressive outing versus Drew pouring in a season-high 30 points – one shy of his career best – on a blistering 12-of-20 (60 percent) shooting from the floor while corralling nine rebounds.

Through games played January 5th, the junior ranks fifth among NCAA Division III active players in career rebounding average (10.5 rpg) and seventh in total rebounds (723) and seventh in double-doubles (29). Louison currently sits 30 points shy of reaching the coveted 1,000 point scoring plateau.

Louison earned HVIAC Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row and is now a three-time recipient of the award this season.

St. Joseph's (7-7) returns to the floor on Monday, January 13th for a doubleheader an intra-borough matchup against Brooklyn College. The women will lead off the twinbill at Brooklyn Technical High School starting at 7 p.m. followed by the men at 9 p.m. Live stats and video with Sitesh Shah calling the action, will be available on SJCBears.com.
