Louison Dubbed AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing his outstanding performance on the hardwood, junior David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week after scoring his 1,000th career point in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team to a victory over borough rivals Brooklyn College.

Louison had a monster game, scoring his 1,000th career point on a free throw that capped off a three-point play, for St. Joseph's as they defeated the Bulldogs, 88-75, last Monday in their lone game of the week. The junior poured in 30 points, one shy of a career high, to help lead the Bears to their first win over Brooklyn since 2006.

The forward matched his season-high in points and coupled it with 10 caroms for his seventh double-double of the season. Louison went an impressive 12-of-16 (75 percent) from the field and made 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe, on his way to reaching the career milestone in only 71 games.

The junior ups his scoring average to a career-high 17.5 points per game and is shooting a career-best 49.8 percent from the field.

Louison earned Player of the Week recognition for the third time from AD3I and is now a four-time recipient of the weekly HVIAC accolade. Louison and teammate Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) have teamed up to earn six of the 10 Player of the Week honors given out by AD3I and have combined to win six of the HVIAC weekly awards.

St. Joseph's (8-7) returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 22nd at 8 p.m., facing Valley Forge Christian College in a road matchup.
