Louison Crowned HVIAC and USCAA Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – After leading St. Joseph's to a 2-1 record and an appearance in the Eastern Nazarene Classic final, David Louison (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Player of the Week.

Louison concluded the week averaging 16.3 points and 14.7 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field. He finished with a double-double in all three games, bringing his season-total to five.

On November 19, in a 79-46 conference victory over rival Pratt, the senior recorded 12 points and 10 boards in just 23 minutes of play. Louison then led the Bears to a 61-60 comeback victory over Maine-Presque Isle in the ENC Classic semifinal on November 21, dropping 10 points and grabbing a game-high 16 boards. The next day, in a hard-fought loss to Eastern Nazarene in the ENC Classic final, the senior recorded 27 points and pulled down 18 rebounds; both game- and season-highs. He shot an astounding 12-14 in the game, adding two steals and two blocks.

For the week, Louison rejected four shots and became the first Bear to reach the career 100-block mark.

Louison is now a two-time recipient of the USCAA Player of the Week award, with his first dating back to February 18, 2013. This is his seventh HVIAC Player of the Week honor and his first of the 2014-15 season.

Louison leads the 4-1 Bears in scoring (16.0) and rebounding (13.2) this season and will look to continue his success against Southern Virginia on November 29.
