Megafu Tabbed Skyline Men's Basketball Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — After averaging a double-double and being named to the Dick Leftwich V-Foundation Classic All-Tournament team, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) senior Michael Megafu (Jamaica, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) was selected as the Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 22 as announced by the league office today.

The senior forward shot 63.6 percent from the floor (14-22) in averaging 19.0 points and 10.0 rebounds leading the Bears to runner-up honors at the V-Foundation Classic. In the title game vs. Roanoke, Megafu stuffed the stat sheet with team highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting effort, also contributing on the defensive end with three blocks and as many steals. The active career leader in NCAA Division III in double-doubles recorded his first of the season and 47th of his career.

The Player of the Week honor is the first received by a men's basketball player and just the second received by a SJC Brooklyn student-athlete since joining the 11-team league this season.

Megafu and the Bears (1-1, 0-0 Skyline) open conference play hosting Mount Saint Mary College (2-1, 0-0 Skyline) in their home opener at The Hill Center tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Live stats and video will be available on SJCBears.com
