Men's Basketball Looks to Rebound at Home Against Old Westbury

The Bear Facts

• The Skyline race gets underway tonight with five league games taking place tonight.
• The Bears would like to keep pace with the league leaders after dropping their first Skyline affair on Monday as their second-half rally that erased a 10-point deficit at Mount Saint Vincent fell short.
• Michael Megafu fell one rebound shy of his third straight double-double posting a game-high 21 points with nine boards. Jamir Archer added 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting in defeat. Matt O'Neill added 11 points with six steals and as many rebounds.

Protecting the Rock

• Entering the week, the Bears led the league in fewest turnovers and turnover margin.
• On the defensive end of the floor, the Bears averaged double-digit steals with Megafu's and O'Neill's sticky fingers swiping a league-best 3.0 thefts a game, good for 17th in the nation.  

O'Neill Lands On Skyline Honor Roll

• Recognizing his efforts in the come-from-behind win over Mount Saint Mary scoring 17 points, O'Neill was named to the conference honor roll on Monday.

• Despite entering with a 1-3 record, the Panthers lone win was a defeat of SJC Long Island in their Skyline opener last Tuesday.
• Old Westbury was picked to finish second by the league coaches in their preseason poll. 
• The Panthers return Mark Gjonlekaj who averaged 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds last season to earn Second-Team All-Skyline honors helping OW to a fourth place finish with a 12-6 league record.
• Senior Keith Lackerson is the reigning Skyline Co-Player of the Week after recording his first career double-double with career highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds in the win over SJC Long Island.
• Junior Lylle Ryals leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game, a volume shooter who connects at a 43.1% rate. Classmate Jamail Stanley also averages 15.0 points per game and leads the team pulling down 9.3 boards per game.
