Men’s Basketball to Face Baruch in Exhibition to Support Hurricane Relief Efforts

NEW YORK — On Wednesday, November 8th, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) will face Baruch College in a men's basketball exhibition for Hurricane Relief. The game will be held at Baruch's ARC Arena with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
The NCAA has granted various intercollegiate teams from across Division I to III permission to play an extra game this preseason in an effort to raise funds for those effected by devastating hurricanes during the past few months.
 
The suggested donation for the exhibition is $5. For those unable to attend and wishing to contribute, click here.

We are also asking everyone who attends to wear the color green (representing renewal, rebirth, generosity and service) in solidarity for all those affected by the hurricanes. Those who attend wearing green will receive a raffle ticket at the door and will be eligible to win a prize at halftime.
 
"We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to play this extra exhibition game for Hurricane Relief efforts," said Head Coach John Alesi.  "We are extremely fortunate to be in a position where we may make a small contribution to help all those in need due to these devastating tragedies. I would like to thank Coach Joe Cocozello and athletic director James Lally at St. Joseph's College for their willingness to join us for this great cause.  I'm sure it will be a rewarding experience for both programs."
 
This will be the first meeting between these two schools in men's basketball.

"It's easy to feel helpless at a time like this, but when we come together and use the platform of sports for what really matters, our collective power to make a difference is far more impactful than we could have imagined.
