St. Joseph's of Brooklyn's Kavan Meiner named Skyline's Rookie of Week

Kavan Meiner has started every game for St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn.

St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) freshman Kavan Meiner has been selected the Skyline Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on  Monday.

The Susan Wagner product opened the week with 12 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort to rival St. Joseph's College (Long Island) Wednesday and capped the week with eight points and as many rebounds in a 76-75 victory over The College of New Rochelle Sunday.

The 6-foot-6 forward, who has started every game this season, shot 46 percent from the field (6-for-13) and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. He also collected a pair of assists with a steal.

The Bears (3-9, 0-4 Skyline) are in the heart of their conference schedule and will face the College of Mount Saint Vincent Wednesday.
