Men's Soccer Three-Game Streak Halted by Yeshiva

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team saw their program-best three-game winning streak come to an end, suffering a 7-1 setback to Yeshiva University on Monday evening at Aviator Sports and Events Center.

Freshman Beka Goduadze (Tbilisi, Georgia/Lyceum "NK") scored the lone goal for the Bears (4-4) who fell to .500 on the season.

The Maccabees (7-4-1) raced out to a 3-0 lead on a pair of Itamar Ben David goals in the 9th and 29th minutes and a strike from Daniel Amar in the 17th minute. The future Skyline foes controlled play for most of the contest, despite playing into a stiff headwind the opening 45.

Goduadze got St. Joseph's on the board just before the intermission when he put back a rebound off a save for his fifth goal of the season.

Playing into the wind for the second half and hampered by playing a man down due to a second yellow card, the Bears were held to just four shot attempts and surrendered a 21-12 shot differential for the afternoon.

The Maccabees would tack on four goals in a span of 15 minutes, Amar and David both completing their hat tricks to lead Yeshiva with three goals each.

Maor Feinstein made seven saves in earning the win in net for Yeshiva while Michael Miner (Schenevus, N.Y./Schenevus) made two saves in taking the loss.

St. Joseph's returns to Aviator Field on Thursday, October 9 for a key Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against The King's College starting at 8 p.m.
