BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team dropped a 7-0 Skyline Conference decision to The Sage Colleges on Sunday afternoon at Aviator Field.

How It Happened

  • Despite playing down a man for the game, the Bears hung tough over the opening 45 with the Gators, who are in a three-way tie atop the league standings.
  • Sage capitalized on a turnover in the 34th minute when River Seybolt finished a breakaway and struck again less than a minute later when Seybolt's shot was stopped but put in by Heriberto Gomez to give Sage a 2-0 lead they carried into the lockers.
  • The Gators would open up the contest with two goals within 23 seconds of each other in the 55th minute and finished with five goals in the frame for the final deficit.

For the Bears

  • Kyle Johnson and Pandeli Mano recorded the only official shots for the Bears, Johnson's coming on goal.
  • Parr made eight saves in goal

For the Maccabees

  • River Seybolt had two goals and one assist, leading six different goal scorers
  • Paul Reynoso and Alex Lanza had a goal and an assist
  • TJ Zehner made one save in 61:24 in net for the win in the combined shutout.

The Bears will celebrate Senior Day on Thursday, October 22 in their home finale hosting Washington Adventist University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Aviator Field.
