PURCHASE, N.Y. — Opening a busy four-day stretch, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team took a 4-0 loss from Purchase College on the road on Thursday evening.
How it Happened
The game remained scoreless for the opening 30 minutes before the Panthers (5-6-2, 3-4-1 Skyline) struck for two goals in a span of less than 10 minutes and led 2-0 at intermission with Anthony Guzzone netting both tallies.
St. Joseph's (4-13, 1-7 Skyline) outshot Purchase 6-3 to start the new period but the hosts opened the second-scoring in the 70th minute putting back a rebound. A late goal with under five minutes to play pushed the lead to 4-0.
The Bears outshot the Panthers 20-18 for the contest but struggled to find their target as the hosts led 12-5 in shots on goal.
