Bears Tennis Blanked by Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team was blanked 9-0 against Albertus Magnus on Sunday afternoon at the Celentano Courts.

The Bears (0-5) were held without a point for the third straight match and have now dropped their first five matches of the season while the Falcons (6-7) conclude their regular season having won three of their last four matches.

Albertus Magnus took love victories in all but four matches with Jeff Bonowicz (Whitestone, NY/Holy Cross) and Nick Orlando (Brooklyn, NY/Christ the King) leading the Bears by taking three games at No. 2 and No. 4 singles while Kyle Johnson (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook Central) won two games at No. 3 singles.

In doubles play, Johnson and Orlando paired up to win three games at No. 2 doubles.

The Bears look to pick up their first win of the season as they take on Brooklyn in a road match on Monday, April 22th with first serve slated for 5 p.m.
