FLUSHING, N.Y. – Dickson Tan (Brooklyn, NY/East-West School of International Studies) recorded his first collegiate singles win as the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team wrapped up their 2013 campaign with a sixth place finish at the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the USTA Billy Jean King National Tennis Center.

Tan, a rookie sophomore, picked up the lone victory for the Bears on the afternoon as he upended Terry Cetoute of Vaughn College, 8-4, in the quarterfinal round of the No. 6 singles tournament. Tan would fall to eventual flight champion Kaitlyn Miller of Culinary, 8-0, in the semifinal round.

In doubles play, James Hanophy (Albertson, NY/Holy Trinity HS) and Jeff Bonowicz (Whitestone, NY/Holy Cross) teamed up for an 8-4 loss to Greg Lobozza and Damian Gaona of Vaughn in the quarterfinals of the No. 1 doubles tournament.

Undefeated regular season champions Pratt Institute took home the tournament title in a dominating performance that saw the Cannoneers produce six of the nine flight champions.
