Men's Tennis Overwhelmed By Cooper Union

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team was kept off the scoreboard by Cooper Union in a non-conference affair at the USTA Billy Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Bears (0-7) couldn't get anything going against their former conference rivals in the opening doubles matches securing just one game in aggregate off the former six-time HVMAC champions.

Nolan Parr (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook Central) gave Vasily Kuksenkov a scare at No. 5 singles, fighting him to a 10-7 loss in the longest match of the singles competition.

Nick Orlando (Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King) also managed to take three games off his opponent at No. 6 singles.

St. Joseph's returns to the courts facing John Jay on Tuesday, April 22 in their final non-conference match before closing out the regular season with four Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches.
