Parr and Johnson Record First Career Victories as Men's Tennis Diced by Culinary; Tonight's Opponent Switched to York

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Sophomore Nolan Parr (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook Central) secured wins in singles and doubles, but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Culinary Institute of America in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) play on Sunday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.

Parr won his first career matches in singles and doubles in two seasons, victorious at No. 4 singles, 10-7, over Nicolas Cadvaid and teaming up with Kyle Johnson (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook Central) for an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles over Robert Schuett and Sarah Parejo, Johnson's first career match victory.

The Steels (3-3, 3-1 HVIAC) move into second place in the league standing with the victory.

St. Joseph's (0-9, 0-2 HVIAC) will return to the USTA National Tennis Center tonight hosting York College at 7 p.m. Their originally scheduled league match against Pratt Institute has been postponed with a makeup date to be determined.
