Men's Tennis Blanks Sage For First Skyline Win
TROY, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team notched their first Skyline Conference victory posting their first shutout victory in program history, defeating The Sage Colleges, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon. Junior Kevin Caicedo (Astoria, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) led the Bears in singles while seniors Nolan Parr (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook Central) and Kyle Johnson (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook Central) led the doubles lineup.

How It Happened
- Matthew Smith and Alec Smalley got the Bears on the board first with a love victory at No. 3 doubles closely followed by Carlos Mayorga and Kevin Caicedo shutout win at No. 2 doubles.
- Playing together for the first time this season at No. 1 doubles, Nolan Parr and Kyle Johnson completed the sweep of the doubles session with an 8-4 triumph.
- Mayorga and Smith surrendered just one game at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to clinch the Bears first Skyline victory.
- Smalley's leveled his singles record at 2-2 with a double bagel win at No. 6 singles.
- Leading the singles lineup for just the second time this season, Caicedo cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and Parr bypassed his opponent at No. 3 singles dropping just two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win.
- Johnson was tested, but prevailed at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3 to complete the sweep, the first in program history.
