Men’s Tennis Downed by Farmingdale State

FLUSHING, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback to Farmingdale State College in Skyline Conference action on Wednesday evening at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Freshman Daniel Vaitzman (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) gutted out a hard-fought loss at No. 2 singles falling 6-4, 6-3 in the closest match of the evening. He also teamed up with Shivam Ghai (Nairobi, Kenya/International School of Kenya) to drop an 8-2 decision in the lead doubles match.

Farmingdale State (2-7, 2-2) was paced by Steven Gaudio at the top of the lineup dropped just three games in both his singles and doubles matches.

The Bears will head to the Bronx to face Lehman College on Friday, April 13 with first serve set for 3:30 p.m.
