Vaitzman Edged in Singles as Men's Tennis Hosts Mount Saint Mary

FLUSHING, N.Y. — Freshman Daniel Vaitzman (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) was edged out in singles in a third set tiebreaker but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 Skyline Conference loss to Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.

Vaitzman won his opening set at No. 2 singles, 6-4, Chris McGorty rallied to win set two and the third-set super-tiebreaker, 10-7.

The Bears (1-7, 0-6) will wrap up their Skyline Conference slate on Tuesday, April 17 heading to sibling rivals SJC Long Island. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
