Mount Saint Mary Too Much for Men’s Tennis

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team came up empty-handed from their trip to Newburgh taking a 9-0 Skyline Conference loss to Mount Saint Mary College (8-2, 3-2 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon.

Making his first appearance at the top of the lineup, freshman Darrius Thompson (Brooklyn, N.Y./High School for Public Service) collected a pair of games in a 6-0, 6-2 loss at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Daniel Vaitzman (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) also fell by the same score at the No. 2 position.

St. Joseph's (1-6, 0-4) hosts sibling rivals SJC Long Island at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Tuesday, April 16 for a Skyline match starting at 7:30 p.m.
