Men's Volleyball Taken Down in Four Sets by Brooklyn College

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -  The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team fought hard throughout the match, but were ultimately defeated by Brooklyn College, 3-1 (25-9, 23-25, 25-12, 25-9) at Brooklyn Technical High School Tuesday night.

Raul Urshela (Orlando, Fla./Colonial) paced the Bears (4-11) in a losing cause with his team-high 13 kills for the team. Iqbal Husain (West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) supplied 15 assists for St. Joseph's, and Taso Kostikas (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) topped the team with 11 digs.

The Bulldogs (13-11) were paced by double-digit kills from David Dimitruk (11), Antony Koyfman (15), and Vaughn Ford (10). Timothy Hui contributed a game-high 38 assists in the winning effort.

After dropping the first set 25-9, the Bears initially fell behind early in the second frame. Trailing 22-19 later in the set, the Bears called a timeout where they rebounded with four consecutive kills, three from Urshela. He then closed out the stanza with a kill to give the Bears the victory, showing the team's resilience to even the match at a set apiece.

Brooklyn College took over the third and fourth sets, taking both by double digits to secure their 13th win of the season.
