The Bear Facts
- After a come-from-behind, five-set victory over Medgar Evers last week, the Bears continue a four-match homestand facing Brooklyn College in their final tune-up before Skyline Conference play begins on Sunday. The Bears also try to move to 2-0 for the first time in their nine-year history.
- In the win over Medgar, where the Bears rallied twice from one-set deficits, senior Clyde Delacruz posted a team-high 14 kills, four coming in the fifth set, to pace the attack. Thomas Kennedy anchored the defense with 20 digs also contributing eight kills and five aces. Norrin Martinez directed the offense with 31 assists.
- When Brooklyn last visited The Hill Center last February, the Bears notched their first win ever over the Bulldogs in 10 meetings, prevailing in straight sets behind now assistant coach Raul Urshela's 10 kills and six aces. Kennedy added six kills, six digs and four aces to the victory.
- The Bulldogs have compiled a 1-2 record against Skyline Conference opposition so far defeating Yeshiva in straight sets while falling to New Jersey City and Purchase College in straight sets. Brooklyn enters off a tri-match split on Saturday falling to Baruch in three sets but salvaging a split with a four-set triumph over Lehman.
