Kennedy Collects Skyline Men's Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team to a 2-0 week, senior Thomas Kennedy (Breezy Point, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) was named the Skyline Conference men's volleyball Player of the Week, the league office announced earlier today.

The senior outside hitter was solid all-around, posting a 14-kill, 13-dig double-double in four-set triumph over Medgar Evers on Tuesday and nearly recorded a second double-double with 16 kills and nine digs in a straight-set victory over Clinton Hill rivals Pratt on Thursday.

On the week, Kennedy hit .348 amassing a team-leading 30 kills against just six errors and also landed three service aces.

The Skyline honor is the first to be collected by a men's volleyball player this season in their first year in the league.

Riding a two-game winning streak and working on nine days rest, the Bears return to conference play this Saturday, March 19 looking to earn a split of the season series against the College of Mount Saint Vincent and Purchase College in a tri-match in Riverdale, N.Y. starting at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available on SJCBears.com.
