Men's Volleyball Celebrates Six Seniors Playing in their Season Finale vs. Ramapo

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team honored six seniors playing in their final collegiate game but dropped a straight-set decision to Ramapo College of New Jersey in a Skyline Conference match on Sunday afternoon at The Hill Center.

How it Happened

• The Bears took a brief lead early in the first set after a Ramapo service error, but the Roadrunners ran off 13 straight points and took control of the set.
• The No. 2 seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference tournament took control of the second and third sets with early runs and hit .381 for the match in victory.

For the Bears

• Senior Thomas Kennedy closed out his career with a team-high six kills and leading the defense with seven digs.
• Sophomore Alec Smalley added three kills and three digs.
• Newly minted 1000-assist club member Norrin Martinez handed out nine assists and a kill.
• Senior Clyde Delacruz chipped in a two blocks and a kill.

For the Roadrunners

• Justin Feigeles slammed a match-high 10 kills with three aces for a match-high 13 points.
• Paul Close also put down a match-high 10 kills with four blocks.
• Mikhael Erushalimski dished out 26 assists and directed the offense to a .381 hitting.

Leaving Their Mark

• Norrin Martinez finishes as the Bears all-time leader in matches played (81), sets played (285) and service aces (104). He also finishes as the second-leading setter in Bears history with 1033 assists, holding the top two single-season records for assists with 520 last year and 509 this year.
• Clyde Delacruz leaves as the Bears career record holder in attacking percentage (.235). Entering this weekend, the senior ranked third in the Skyline Conference hitting an SJC single-season record .320. He also ranks second all-time in blocks per set (0.62) and third in kills per set (1.89)
• Thomas Kennedy became just the second Bear to pound over 200 kills in a season finishing with 203 kills after today's match. In just three seasons as a Bear, Kennedy finishes second in program-history in kills per set (2.03) and digs per set (2.12) and third in total kills (417) and digs (435).

• St. Joseph's closes out their inaugural season in the Skyline Conference in eighth place with a 2-14 record and their eighth season in program history with a 5-17 record.
