CCNY Sweeps Season Series Over Men's Volleyball

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team (0-7) hosted the City College of New York (8-2) at The Hill Center on Saturday afternoon but were thwarted, falling in successive sets, 3-0 (8, 7, 8).

Junior Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) did his best to help the Bears, slamming one kill, stepping in for three digs, while also accumulating two total blocks. Sophomore Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) generated a similar stat line, pounding one kill, three digs, and one block solo. Senior Alec Willis (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) had a team-high three assists and team captain McNeilsen Saint-Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) pitched in wirg a single kill.

CCNY (8-2) was led by multiple players including Maldonado Madrid's match-high nine kills with five digs, David Cham's eight kills along with five digs, and Seth Diaz's seven kills to go with seven service aces. Hei Chun facilitated well for his team, garnering 25 assists.

The Bears will have a week off before they head to Staten Island for their first tri-match against Penn St.-Behrend and the College of Staten Island on Saturday, March 3. First-serve set for 1 p.m. with live stats and video on SJCBears.com.
