Men’s Volleyball Battles Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Instead of the previously scheduled tri-Match, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team (0-8) journeyed across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to take on sole opponent, College of Staten Island (2-6) Saturday afternoon but were halted, dropping a straight set decision, 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-9).

The Bears were led by sophomore dual threats, Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y. / St. Peter's) and Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y. / Christ the King). Driscoll slammed a team-high four kills and supplied an additional team-high seven digs. Eddy had an equally impressive outing, pounding three kills and stepping in for five digs. Junior Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y. / St. Peter's) pitched in with two kills, five digs, one assist and one block solo. Senior Alec Willis (Staten Island, N.Y. / St. Joseph by the Sea) had a team-high five assists to go along with two kills and one block solo.

CSI was carried by Christian Dumadag, who accounted for 19 of the team's 34 total kills. He also supplied four service aces and six digs. His fellow teammate Adil El Haddad distributed nicely, totaling 29 assists on the afternoon.
