CCNY Takes Series from Men's Volleyball

NEW YORK — Continuing a busy four-game road stretch in five days, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) to City College of New York on Friday evening.

How it Happened

In the second meeting of the squads this season, the Bears (1-11) saw their most competitive set in the second stanza, leading at the 11-10 mark before the Beavers (10-4) responded with an 11-3 run. St. Joseph's pulled within four at 23-19 but couldn't come any closer.

For the Bears

  • Senior Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) paced the Bears with eight kills and 11 digs, both team highs, also chipping in a pair of blocks.
  • Sophomore Dejon St. Rose-Cuffy (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) contributed four kills and three blocks (one solo).
  • Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) and Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) chipped in three kills each.
