Men's Volleyball Tripped Up by Wilkes and Medaille

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team dropped both ends of a non-conference tri-match in Pennsylvania, falling in straight sets to Wilkes University (9-9) and Medaille College (7-10) on Saturday

Match 1: Wilkes 3, St. Joseph's 0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-13)

Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) led the Bears attack with seven kills and as many digs and Dejon St. Rose-Cuffy (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) added four kills and a block but St. Joseph's was outhit 40 to 15 in kills.

The Bears remained close in the second set trailing 11-10 before a 6-1 run and trailed 9-8 in the third before the Colonels used a 7-1 run to pull away.

Match 2: Medaille 3, St. Joseph's 0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-18)

St. Rose-Cuffy, Driscoll, and Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) combined for 10 of the Bears' 12 kills but SJC couldn't keep pace with the Mavericks.

St. Joseph's had their most competitive set of the day in the third, but after shrinking a seven-point lead to four, 20-16, couldn't pull the Mavericks back any further.

The Bears (1-13) resumes Skyline Conference play on Tuesday (Mar. 19) against Yeshiva University in a road game starting at 8 p.m.
