Men's Volleyball Finishes in Third Place; Bears Travel to Purchase on Thursday for Skyline Semifinal

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Assembling their best league finish in program history with a 5-5 mark, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team has claimed third place in the Skyline Conference with play around the league completing today.

The Bears clinched their first appearance in the Skyline Conference Championship with a victory over Sarah Lawrence in their home finale yesterday. Entering as the No. 3 seed, the Bears travel to No. 2 Purchase College for a semifinal match on Thursday, April 11 starting at 7 p.m. The winner will move on to face the winner of No. 1 SJC Long Island and No. 4 Yeshiva on Saturday for the league title.

St. Joseph's and Purchase split the regular season series with the road team prevailing. The Bears outlasted the Panthers in five sets two weekends ago but fell in straight sets in the last meeting at The Hill Center on Tuesday.
