Eddy and St. Rose-Cuffy Receive All-Skyline Men's Volleyball Recognition

NEW YORK — St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) seniors Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) and Dejon St. Rose-Cuffy (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughin) were named to the All-Skyline Conference Men's Volleyball Second Team as announced by the league office earlier today.

The pair shared the team lead in kills with 69 each as they led the Bears to a pair of conference wins and a 4-9 record in an abbreviated 2020 season. Additionally, Eddy was named to the Skyline's All-Sportsmanship Team.

Selected to the Second Team for the second consecutive season and to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time, Eddy's 6.45 attacks per set and 2.19 digs per set are good for seventh and ninth in the conference, respectively. Along with his team-leading 69 kills, Eddy's 14 aces were good for second on the team and third in the league. In the second game of the season against Brooklyn College, the outside hitter picked up a double-double with season-highs of 11 kills and 20 digs. In the three conference games the Bears played this season, Eddy registered 19 kills, 13 digs, and a pair of blocks; including a team-high eight kills against Mount Saint Vincent. Eddy concludes his collegiate career fourth in program history with 432 digs and eighth with 231 kills.

Earning his first All-Conference selection, St. Rose-Cuffy led the team with 30 blocks (17 solo). His team-leading .714 blocks per set ranked third in the Skyline while placing fifth with a .254 hitting percentage. St. Rose-Cuffy logged nine kills while hitting .500 against Pratt and hit an efficient .875, picking up seven kills and a trio of blocks in the following match against York College. The middle blocker recorded a season-high four blocks in as many games, doing so twice against conference opposition. St. Rose-Cuffy graduates with 84 blocks (42 solo), ranking fourth in program history while coming in fifth with 42 block assists.

The All-Conference and All-Sportsmanship Teams and Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards were selected by the Skyline Conference's eight head men's volleyball coaches.
