After years of waiting by the SJC Brooklyn community, construction on a new multi-purpose facility commenced on May 22, 2012. The new facility will house NCAA-regulation basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness center and locker rooms, and will be the first true on-campus athletics venue in the Brooklyn campus' history.

Seniors Elizabeth Fiorella, Kristen McMaster, Catherine Muldoon, Alison Nunziata, Abigail Verbil, junior Laura Sonnylal, and sophomore Demi Herman of the women's swimming team and senior Maciej Sadowski of the men's volleyball team were named to the USCAA National Non-USCAA Sport Winter All-Academic Team.
