AKRON, Ohio – At the banquet commencing the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Softball National Championships, seniors Danielle Marino (Maspeth, NY/Mary Louis) and Teresa Mangan (Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph's), juniors Megan Moran (Syosset, NY/St. Dominic's) and Christina Quintana (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) along with sophomore Jackie Perillo (Howard Beach, NY/Archbishop Molloy) were all named to the National All-Academic Team.

Marino was named to her second All-Academic Team for softball and second this year as she also received the honor for basketball. The senior was one of the top producers in the Lady Bears lineup as she hit .415 on the year with a team-high tying three home runs and 28 RBI. The catcher/second baseman led St. Joseph's with a .734 slugging percentage and 13 doubles while also scoring 24 runs during the year as the Lady Bears went 15-17-1. Marino was named USCAA, Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Player of the Week on April 23rd and recorded her 100th career hit against New Rochelle on April 18th.

Quintana takes home the honor for the second consecutive year and batted .375 with 12 hits including six doubles with six RBI and six runs scored. The junior was named HVWAC Player of the Week on April 2nd after going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBI in the Lady Bears doubleheader sweep over York on March 28th.

Moran was named to the All-Academic Team for the first time in her career and was a valuable utility player for St. Joseph's as she hit .278 on the year with 15 runs scored and five RBI on the year.

Perillo was named to her first All-Academic team, her first year eligible to receive the award. The sophomore hit .325 on the year with three home runs and 19 RBI and scored a team-high 28 runs. The outfielder/pitcher also excelled in her first year in the circle for the Lady Bears as she went a team-best 7-6 finishing with a 6.76 ERA in 68.1 innings. Perillo threw her first career no-hitter against New Rochelle on April 4th going five innings allowing only one walk while fanning six.

Mangan concludes her career taking home All-Academic Team honors for the second time this year as she also earned the honor in basketball. The senior hit .310 on the year with 12 runs scored, eight RBI and nine hits on the year.

In order to qualify for the National All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
