Series History

The Lady Bears are a perfect 16-0 against York in a series that dates back to April 18, 2002. St. Joseph's swept the Cardinals in the schools' last meeting on March 28, 2013, taking the opener 4-0 before completing the sweep with a 14-5 triumph in the nightcap.

The Bear Facts

Last Time Out: St. Joseph's picked up an 11-2 victory over John Jay on Monday, using a 10-run fifth inning to prevail in five innings. Jackie Perillo earned her second win of the season in the circle for the Lady Bears.

Following an 0-6 start in Florida, St. Joseph's has rebounded to go 4-4 over their last eight games and look to make a late season surge to a possible USCAA National Championship appearance at the end of the season with winnable games ahead of them. The Lady Bears' bats have started to heat up over their last six games, hitting .378 (65-for-172) as a team and have used consistent pitching to go 4-2 during the stretch.

One-time HVIAC Player of the Week Cassandra Molinari continues to swing the bat well for St. Joseph's, hitting a blistering .526 (10-for-19) over the last six games with six RBI and five runs scored. With the hot stretch Molinari now leads the team with a .450 batting average, .500 slugging percentage and has eight RBI on the year.

A pleasant surprise for Coach Carbone and his staff has been two-time HVIAC Rookie of the Week Kristin Ferrigno who is second on the team with a .350 average and leads the team with 12 runs driven in. Fellow freshman Geena Campisi has also been a key addition to the Lady Bears lineup, hitting .500 (7-for-14) with five runs scored and five RBI over the last six games.

In the circle for St. Joseph's are freshman Jamilynn McGowan and junior Jackie Perillo. After a tough start to her rookie campaign, McGowan has pitched better in her last three starts, compiling a 2-1 record on a 3.89 ERA in 18.0 innings. Perillo also struggled to begin the season, but is coming off a complete game win at John Jay where she allowed two runs on four hits.

Cardinal Watch

Last Time Out: The Cardinals suffered a five-inning 10-0 shutout defeat to CUNYAC foe John Jay on Monday. York was led by Danielle Dunn and Angelika Ruggiano who recorded the lone Cardinal hits.

After starting the season 1-8, York has righted the ship with a 4-5 mark over their last nine contests. The Cardinals have already won more CUNYAC games than they did a year ago and are two wins shy of matching last season's win total.

The team struggles at the plate carrying a .254 team batting average which places them sixth in the seven team CUNYAC. However, once they reach base York wreaks havoc on opposing pitchers and catchers with 44 stolen bases on the year (No. 2 in CUNYAC).

Anchoring the Cardinal lineup is Geneva Faulk who brings in a team-high .354 batting average and 12 RBI. The shortstop/catcher also paces the team with 16 runs scored and has a team-high four doubles and three triples.

Priscilla Lallave leads the York pitching staff with a 4.69 ERA in 62 2/3 innings accounting for 14 appearances. The sophomore sports a 2-8 record and seven complete games, while fellow pitcher Michelle Deleon maintains a 7.21 ERA in 33.0 innings and leads the team with a 3-4 mark in the circle.
